Lab alumna Alex Rutz (PhD ’16) has been awarded the Millipore Sigma 2017 Life Science Award in 3D-Printing for her work on Engineering Hydrogel Inks for 3D Tissue and Organ Printing! She receives a $10,000 prize as part of the award. During her time in the Shah Lab, Alex was responsible for developing the PEGX Hydrogel ink system, and among other things, was heavily involved with the work developing a functional, 3D-printed artificial ovary which ultimately restored fertility to sterilized mice. Alex is currently continuing her work as a postdoc at the University of Cambridge, England. Congratulations Alex!!!
